Of friends, Of love, Of anything that blooms beautifully in the crevice of my heart

Piece by Pelumi Tobun, dedicated to Ebo Anthony, Ade-Ife, Oresanya.

your body cloaks in the emblem of God’s love—

you caricature your way into my heart,

transport the love into my soul,

pulling me into an orchestra of beautiful things.

like a child sharing his toy, you wield me a sword,

encamp me an armour; a helmet, till I stand

fit for a battle.

you say,  look into my eyes; dethrone your worries,

I will airlift them till you become light like a feather.

I unfold myself into your palms,

and you became a roofing to protect my consciousness,

kicking back in my sanity when I’m about to lose it.

you became a friend, a piece, that identifies with

every member of my body.
